Amber Forrestal, DVM
Dr. Amber Forrestal was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to El Paso, Texas at eleven years old. Dr. Forrestal moved back to Hawaii where she completed her undergraduate degree. During veterinary school at Cornell University, Dr. Forrestal began breeding cows and started an embryo transfer program. She has always loved taking care of animals and learning about biology. While she did not grow up on a farm, Dr. Forrestal enjoys the dairy industry and is specifically interested in theriogenology, or the study of animal reproduction. Dr. Forrestal has had many interesting jobs throughout her years, including waitressing at seafood restaurants and as a teaching assistant where she was able to teach students how to find coral. Dr. Forrestal also participated in a program that raised and released sea turtles into the Gulf Stream in Florida. She is a proud alumnus of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation and the International Embryo Technology Society. Dr. Forrestal is moving to Geneseo, where she will live with her beef cow, Violet, dog Boris, three cats and her beta fish
