Daniel Fischer, DVM
Dr. Dan Fischer was born in the Bronx and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York. Dr. Fischer has always had a deep rooted interested in the world of animals and graduated from Cornell University in 1997 with an Honors degree in Biology. After college, he worked in several research laboratories and animal hospitals before deciding to become a veterinarian. Dr. Fischer returned to Cornell in 2000 and completed his DVM training in 2004. From there, he practiced general medicine and surgery in Connecticut for three years before coming to the Rochester area to practice and start a family in 2007. Some of Dr. Fischer’s professional interests include dentistry, dermatology, behavior, and gastroenterology. He loves the variety and constant challenge that being a general practitioner provides. Dr. Fischer shares his home with his wife (Dr. Jessica Litteer), their daughter, one dog, and five cats. Two feral cats patrol the outdoors, and are rewarded daily for their efforts. When not enjoying the company of his family and pets, Dr. Fischer enjoys reading and learning to play guitar.
